A Day On The Farm With The Jon Stickley Trio

Guitarist Jon Stickley, violin player Lindsay Pruett and drummer Patrick Armitage played two rousing sets at the SpringSkunk Music Festival, and took time to talk with Joe Kendrick and Aaron Morrell about everything from their favorite instrumental bands, the making of their latest record, Maybe Believe, how "Smells Like Teen Spirit" has found its way into their take on "Blackberry Blossom", their memories of Skunk Fests past and much more.

We hope you enjoy the video and will consider supporting the band, Skunk Fest and Southern Songs and Stories by watching, spreading awareness and supporting our endeavors. All of us involved in this project could never have done this without each other, and we hope you will join in too!

Joe Kendrick and myself had the privilege to sit down at the Spring Skunk Festival and have a conversation with Jon, Patrick and Lyndsay of the Jon Stickley Trio. They generously agreed to take a break between afternoon and evening sets to let us satisfy some curiosity about their relationship with the festival and experiences of growing together as a band. The performances were stellar and the stories gave us a peek into what makes such a tight trio tick! It was a real treat! Thanks to Joe Kendrick for making it all come together. Also thanks goes to the folks at "Camp Awesome" who let us crash their little fireside paradise to grab the footage in a comfortable and unique location. Of course Glynn "Zig" Zeigler can't go unmentioned as he welcomed us with open arms to capture the real "Skunkfest" experience. His awesome crew of volunteers and production team really pull off an amazingly memorable event. One that shouldn't be missed! They practically just stepped out of the van, and then delivered this inspired rendition of the Tim O'Brien song at SpringSkunk towards the beginning of their afternoon set, the first of two performances that day.

The Jon Stickley Trio practically just stepped out of the van, and then delivered this inspired rendition of the Tim O'Brien song "The High Road" at Spring Skunk Fest 2017. This began their afternoon set, of which there were two performances that day. Also, there was a random kids parade thrown in for good measure, which puts a bow on it all. Stay tuned for a lot more!
